The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

At first it seems this sequel offers more than its predecessor – more battles, more heroes, more monsters – but in the end it could still use more of our hero Frodo and his heavy burden. Still, this second film based on the fantasy trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien is an astounding accomplishment, a Herculean effort worthy of the colossal tale it tells. And with the creature Gollum, a slave to the all-powerful ring, The Two Towers features the first computer-generated performance (by Andy Serkis) that can legitimately be called acting.
