P2

As a psychotic parking-garage attendant in P2, Wes Bentley is goofy even when he’s being grotesque. He turns this thriller into a comedy without going so far as to make fun of it. (After his kidnapping victim, played by Rachel Nichols, stabs him with a fork during an escape attempt, he simply smiles and says, “Let’s put that behind us.”) Cheery throughout, he’s like Michael Myers on uppers. When he finally gets his comeuppance you’re almost sad to see him go.
