Meet Dave

Meet Dave is hardly a return to form for Eddie Murphy, yet the movie reminds you of how funny the star can be. Murphy plays a human-sized space ship that looks like Eddie Murphy, as well as the tiny alien inside who is piloting it (and who also looks like Eddie Murphy). As “Dave” tries to blend into the crowd in New York City, we get all sorts of silly slapstick reminiscent of Steve Martin’s All of Me. It’s about time this guy realized he doesn’t need Norbit-style prosthetics to be amusing.
