Transporter 3

Watching Transporter 3, I realized I had had my fill of the series right around the time Jason Statham’s black-market courier was forced to perform a striptease in order to get the keys to his precious car. This is a franchise that had always managed to maintain its balance while walking a tightrope over a sea of silliness – at least until that moment. Director Olivier Megaton, who seems to have gone to the Tony Scott school of hyperactive filmmaking, barely lets the camera rest on any one image for more than a second. It’s as if the movie keeps blinking because something is stuck in its eye.

“… a scrappy, neo-realist tale of societal scrounging that’s paused by poetic moments of slow cinema.”

“Unusually sensitive, in the sense that every element seems to pulse with its own life force. . .”

“This is not your mother’s Wuthering Heights!” the movie howls back at the wind whipping over those moors.”
