The Ridiculous 6

When it comes to The Ridiculous 6, Adam Sandler’s straight-to-Netflix debacle, I have no observations or assessments, but only questions. Did Nick Nolte survive the filming of this? I swear I witnessed him splutter to death mid-sentence at least twice. Was Adam Sandler aware that this is a comedy? (I don’t think he’s going for a deadpan tone – I think he’s trying to be a serious action star.) What’s more racist: casting Native Americans as Peter Pannish “Indians” or having Rob Schneider play a half-Mexican burro lover who touts tacos? (At least Schneider is trying for laughs.) And never mind Nolte, what “mystical sh*#” (to borrow the film’s description of Native-American practices) was ingested by the likes of Steve Buscemi, Harvey Keitel and John Turturro when they agreed to appear in The Ridiculous 6? And how did I make it through all 119 minutes without taking a hit of it?
