Body of Lies

Body of Lies is another diverting yet entirely forgettable piece of big-budget craftsmanship from director Ridley Scott and star Russell Crowe, this time with the addition of Leonardo DiCaprio. DiCaprio plays Roger Ferris, an on-the-ground CIA operative in the Middle East who gets his orders from Crowe’s comfortably nestled Stateside superior. The movie is most interesting when it plays these two sides of the espionage coin against each other – when it shows how technology and footwork can get in each other’s way. Yet aside from the requisite awakening of Ferris’ conscience, there isn’t much here.
