Deception purports to center around a sex club for the corporate elite, in which harried executives – men and women – with no time for relationships organize prearranged, one-night stands. A nerdy accountant played by Ewan McGregor is introduced to the group by an alpha lawyer (Hugh Jackman), yet not long after that a twist takes this away from the provocative premise (the sex club conceit proves to be unnecessary) and into generic thriller territory.
