Disturbia

Every thriller requires its audience to play dumb – to forgive little lapses in logic – but Disturbia expects us to be brain-dead. A riff on Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window, Disturbia centers on a teen (Shia LaBeouf) under house arrest who suspects his neighbor of murder. The preposterousness of Disturbia increases at an alarming rate – the neighbor (David Morse) might as well parade around the block wearing a T-shirt that reads “axe murderer” – until you finally start losing track of all of your objections.
