Enchanted

Silly yet never quite satirical, Disney’s mild fairy-tale spoof is like Shrek without his teeth. Partly animated in the traditional Disney style and partly live-action, Enchanted follows a guileless princess (Amy Adams) who is banished from her fairy-tale world to contemporary New York City. Once there, she falls for a divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey), much to the distress of the prince (James Marsden) who has traveled dimensions to woo her. Marsden and Adams garner a lot of laughs, while a show-stopping number in Central Park simultaneously tweaks and celebrates the Disney musical tradition.
