Feast of Love

Does anyone else want to start a petition demanding that Morgan Freeman no longer play kindly old codgers who dispense valuable advice? In the forcibly whimsical Feast of Love he appears as a kindly professor who counsels a variety of his Portland neighbors (Greg Kinnear, Radha Mitchell) on matters of romance. The movie is based on a book by Charles Baxter, but with its ensemble cast and fantastical allusions, it is begging to be compared to a Shakespearean romance. I’d pay to see Freeman in Shakespeare, but only if he played Othello.
