For this third installment in the dinosaur disaster series, new director Joe Johnston (Jumanji, October Sky) exhibits a competent sense of staging and suspense, two things Steven Spielberg inexplicably couldn’t manage in his Lost World sequel. The result is a satisfying spook house of a movie, in which a new species – even a foe for the dreaded Tyrannosaurus Rex – lurks around each corner. The wonder of Jurassic Park is long gone, but a few thrills still remain.
