Married Life

At turns bitter and blase about the concept of marriage, this features an elaborate period wardrobe that has more life than the lackluster cast. Chris Cooper stars as Harry, a bland businessman who has somehow stumbled into an affair with a younger woman (Rachel McAdams).
Rather than humiliate his wife (Patricia Clarkson) with a divorce, however, Harry decides to do the merciful thing and murder her.
Married Life has absolutely no snap until the murder element is introduced, and then the picture only momentarily comes to life.
Even Pierce Brosnan – as Harry’s dapper best friend, a single cynic who discovers that the one marriage he admires is a sham – can’t liven things up. This is a movie outclassed by its hats.
