Nights in Rodanthe

More effective as a piece of house porn than cinematic drama, Nights in Rodanthe stars Richard Gere and Diane Lane as emotionally bruised strangers who get a second chance at romance when they meet at a gorgeous beachfront inn on the North Carolina coast. Their dialogue is dreadful, but that house is captivating. At one point, director George C. Wolfe circles it in a slow-motion helicopter shot, caressing it with his camera as if it were a half-dressed starlet. I wanted to go there immediately – especially if it meant skipping the rest of the picture.
