Perfect Holiday, The

If you’ve worked your way through every slushy, sentimental Christmas movie offered by the Hallmark Channel and are still able to keep your breakfast down, you might be ready for this. The Perfect Holiday is better cast than most television fare – Morris Chestnut and Gabrielle Union are the central couple, while the likes of Charlie Murphy, Faizon Love and Katt Williams offer very funny comic support – yet other than that there is no reason for this sort of formulaic romantic drama to be on the big screen. Especially out-of-place are A-list stars Queen Latifah and Terrence Howard, who pop up here and there as a pair of Christmas angels – or something like that – directing the action below. Since their presence is never really explained, I can only assume they swooped in from some seasonal special on the Lifetime network.
