Prom Night

File Prom Night with those thrillers that make you root for the killer rather than the victims, so annoying and vacuous are the picture’s stars. A remake of the 1980s slasher flick of the same name, Prom Night centers around Donna Keppel (Brittany Snow), a teenager who is recovering from the murder of her family at the hands of an obsessive teacher (Johnathon Schaech). That doesn’t stop her from going to her prom, of course, because in the movie’s world the prom is as monumental of a life experience as getting married or having a child. So it’s a total bummer when the crazed teacher shows up again.
