RV

Robin Williams dials things down a notch or two for RV, and that proves to be just the right volume level for director Barry Sonnenfeld’s (Men in Black) tolerably manic family comedy. Williams’ Bob Munro, saddled with a distracted wife (Cheryl Hines, from HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm), a mouthy daughter and a wannabe gangster son, hopes the forced intimacy of a RV trip will bring them closer together (with their various iPods and laptops, they’ve turned into niche entertainment consumers under the same roof). With Jeff Daniels and Kristin Chenoweth as a pair of psychotically chirpy fellow campers Bob and his family can’t quite shake.
