Sydney White

The filmmakers behind this forced homage to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs must have known the concept was a loser fairly early on, but they stubbornly plow head anyway. Sitting through the movie is like watching a car careen through a stop sign. Amanda Bynes stars as the title character, a tomboy who follows her late mother’s footsteps by attempting to join her sorority. The problem is, she fits in better with the seven dorks – get it? – who live in a run-down house at the end of the university’s “Greek Row.” The Snow White references are obligatory and uninspired – mainly on the level of the movie’s title – while Bynes’ usually charming comic exasperation feels a bit too authentic.
