Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride

Burton delivers another whimsically macabre modern fairy
tale via stop-motion animation. Johnny Depp provides the voice for a skittish youth who inadvertently resurrects the soul of a murdered bride on the eve of his arranged marriage to a far more lively woman. A supernaturally complicated love triangle ensues. Every character is too something – too tall, too round, too pointy, too trapezoid, even – though always in the most delightful of ways. With this haunting parable about loneliness, love and really cold
feet, Burton confirmed has status as our contemporary brother Grimm.
