Who’s Your Caddy?

Who’s Your Caddy? must be what happens when an artist tries something risky and it fails. This is the rebound project. Antwan “Big Boi” Patton, along with his OutKast partner Andre Benjamin, previously brought movie musicals into the hip-hop age with the vibrant Idlewild, but no one, tragically, cared. And so now Patton backtracks by headlining Who’s Your Caddy?, a crude class-war comedy about a rap mogul who joins a snooty South Carolina country club.
Populated exclusively by clownish characters – of every color – the movie blatantly panders to the lowest common denominator and then, bizarrely, makes a bid for sentimentality in the final act. Gag me with a four iron.
