Zathura

Any oldest child remembers when things were so dull that you resorted to playing with your much younger brother or sister. Zathura takes place on one of those days, and the best thing about the movie is the way it captures the resignation, rivalry and even glimmers of affection that make up a play date among siblings. A 10-year-old (Josh Hutcherson) and his 6-year-old brother (Jonah Bobo) come across the mysterious title game in their basement, and even though its magical powers take them to outer space, that doesn’t mean they quit squabbling. Based on a children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg (Jumanji, The Polar Express).
