Hot Fuzz

This is such a dead-on parody of the Michael Bay school of loud, senseless and bombastic action cinema that it gave me an authentic, Bad Boys-level headache. Though it’s from the same British team that brought you the zombie comedy Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz doesn’t work quite as well as both spoof and homage. Yet the cultural translation – these are, after all, Brits aping a quintessentially American genre – offers enough idiosyncratic laughs to get you through the seizure-inducing action sequences. Starring co-writer Simon Pegg (Shaun of Dead) and Nick Frost.
